Later this month, my solo exhibition Drawn Together will open at ETSU’s Slocumb Galleries. The show runs from September 28th – October 23rd, with a public reception on Thursday, October 15th from 5 – 7 PM. Like all the exhibitions shown in Slocumb Galleries, this one is free and open to the public. It will also be, I hope, a good time.
Below is one of the drawings that will be on display. It and many others come from biannual daily drawing practice. Many of the pieces in this show were part of KEEP IT TOGETHER, my solo show at SNC’s Baer Gallery. Several of the pieces are newer paintings and drawings of people and places in upper east Tennessee. Perhaps my favorite piece in the show is PORTRAIT SHOP, a pop-up portrait drawing studio within the gallery that will be staffed by professional artists, including me. PORTRAIT SHOP (always capitalized, ok?) is currently on display at the Johnson City Library and will be up through September 26th.
It’s always a treat to see all your work together, to see how it moves people (or doesn’t), and to celebrate publicly the fruits of a largely solitary practice. If you’re in the Johnson City area, please check out the show.
